The article is focused on the polemics between realism and idealism in the understanding of politics. After a short summary of the main theses of "political realism", the author tries to show some internal difficulties and contradictions of such a view of politics. But also the "idealist" point of view, as exemplified by Kant"s thought, cannot be taken as granted. The author's claim is that to understand politics it is necessary to use both approaches, in their always problematic and unstable combination.
