The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the particular influence of Freudian psychoanalytic paradigm on Adorno‟s theory of interpretation. Moving from the intention to criticize both neokantian and hermeneutic concepts of interpretation, Adorno recovers indeed the method of construction developed by Freud in The Interpretation of Dreams. In Freudian idea of interpretation Adorno finds therefore a particular methodology that allows to avoid the ontological assumption of hermeneutics and to think the interpretative process on the pattern of the comprehension of work of art.
