Ambiguity of the difference. This contribution uses a clinical approach to consider gender identity in relation to the processes of psychic and sexual identification. It highlights how these processes are simultaneously internal and external, which is not only due to the endogenous biological fact, but also co-generated in primary relationships from conception, and continues in co-evolutionarily learned experience. Besides the cultural construction of gender difference and genital sex, the importance of unconscious affective codes is considered. In the resonance of the relationship, the affective codes influence the attribution of meaning to the experience of self and others. Attention is drawn also to a margin of difference in individuation process between female and male codes, which resulting in a creative dimension disturbs and hybridizes conflictualy.
