Sponsored by an ad hoc committee for Gobetti’s publications, the reissue of the volumes brought out by Piero Gobetti (1901-1926) in his editorial venture, each provided with a critical apparatus, offers a valuable means to comprehend his political and cultural commitment, organically conceived around his review "La Rivoluzione liberale". Indeed Gobetti’s work as a publisher appears closely connected with the project of a radical regeneration of Italian society that vitalized his strenuous struggle against Fascism and would soon lead him to face exile and a tragic death. To publish books meant for Gobetti to conjugate the binomial politics-culture in terms of a testimony to a true practice of freedom.
