Through the review of the clinical case of Dora it presents the structure of hysteria and the clinic of hysteria according to the Lacan’s theory. In hysteria, the symptom depindes from identifications. For the hysteric is the desire of the Other that to do exist the subject. In hysteria the desire for recognition is a continuing and exasperated need. The hysteric’s desire is devoted to dissatisfaction. The hysteric refuses to recognize self in the female’s image, because frustrated of a part, she goes to search of the ideal woman what embodies the phallus. The analysis of the hysteric involves the traversing of fantasy and the castration anxiety.
