This paper deals with a number of cultural events that took place in Berlin in 2013, the 80th anniversary of the Nazi coup and the 75th anniversary of the Kristallnacht. A number of exhibitions were analyzed that were held in dozens of museums as well as outdoors, focusing on the peculiar aspects of Berlin society during the Weimar Republic (artistic avant-gardes, political conflicts, multiculturalism), and the violent methods employed by the Nazi regime to destroy them.
