The main aim of this article is to show that the slow principles are becoming part of the debate about smart city and, to proof such tendency, the smart city and slow city debates are presented highlighting the slow dimensions of smart cities. In the article we define a list of main topics such as the urban governance and in particular we analyze how the governance practices of contemporary cities, categorized as smart cities, are implementing slow city principles.
