Starting from the concept of intentionality of contact, and more specifically of intentionality of growth, this paper presents an approach for working with children in groups. This approach originates from the clinical practice of the author and from the wish to provide a setting that promotes relations among peers and the use of various expressive modalities for “little clients” and for their parents. The aim of the group is to help the child restorie his/her spontaneity of self and to give him/her the opportunity to experience new contact modalities and to develop new creative-adjustments. The therapist is present at the contact-boundary with his/her senses open and is guided by the aesthetic criteria.
Keywords: Gestalt therapy with children, group, intentionality of contact, intentionality of growth, development, child, parents, field, experience.
