This article intends to discuss a psychoanalytically oriented child psychotherapy in the light of complex living systems. Even if increasingly shared and accepted clinically, this relevant epistemological change also affects technique. After a theoretical introduction, the paper discusses a type of treatment that engages parent and child together in the session. A clinical vignette provides an example of this type of treatment.
Keywords: Child psychotherapy, child psychoanalysis, joint child-parent sessions
