The essay investigates the transmission of ideas and political practices between two generations of women in Apulia in the first half of the 20th century. The study reconstructs the path of a project which runs through both institutional and semi-private initiatives, and which takes consistency thanks to its relationships with some significant currents of feminist emancipationism. The research presents some historiographical issues regarding the political valuation of the welfare practices evolved within the «practical feminism», and methodological questions concerning the historiographical reconstruction of female political transmission that takes place through projects, informal communications, lifestyles.

Keywords: Political transmission; Practical feminism; Assistance and charity; Lace; Female work.
