This article considers the theme of jihadist terrorism by analyzing its principal characteristics linked to indoctrination and self-recruitment processes. Jihadist terrorist groups are characterized by symbolic and identity elements that can be analyzed by an anthropological perspective capable of penetrating rituals, symbols and myths of jihadist terrorism.
