Interprofessional funds are a great opportunity for adult workers who want to increase their professionalism. However, the Italian situation still presents a considerable gap with respect to other OECD countries, despite the fact that over the last decade the participation of adults in training processes has increased by 133% in the period (comparison OECD 2007-2016). Italian adults have not only revealed themselves as "low-performers" in the linguistic and mathematical areas of competence (PIAAC, 2012; PIAAC, 2015), but they also seem to be those who are less formed once they enter the world of work. This exploratory study, after focusing on the "typical" profile of the recipient of continuing education in Italy, examines the recent regulatory references relating to the training and certification of skills in informal and non-formal contexts and the guidelines of some of the main interprofessional funds, questioning how much the planning and assessment by skills, in the context of continuous training, are effectively implemented by the financing notices and which educational and docimological processes are now considered worthy of rewarding.
