In Italy female admission to university was regulated in 1875; however access to many careers actually remained precluded to women. The insignificant presence of women as lecturers at Catania University, not different from the national panorama, confirms this. From 1917 to 1970 only four women became full professors: Pia Nalli, Carmelina Naselli, Gina Fasoli, Dina Bertoni Jovine. This article aims to reconstruct their paths.
