In this editorial the director presents the theme of the issue, with some of his considerations on the origin and destiny of the trauma. The real / phantasmic trauma appears in its severity as a break in the continuity of being; it is due to a multifactorial nature of combined elements that are at the origin of the suffering of the patients and of their re-edition in the transference. As traumatic events may be objectively overwhelming, it is the subjective experience, in the intrapsychic, that determines its destinies. The "good enough mother" of Winnicott would, therefore, have the task of perceiving and accepting the eventual fragility of the child, that is accepting the infans in its reality and accepting it in its subjective otherness. Likewise, the analyst’s acceptance of otherness and of limitation is when the support environment has failed and has proved to be traumatic for this. The psychoanalytic couple has the task of reconstructing-constructing-re-writing the experience of trauma and of promoting the sense of continuity of the self that the trauma has interrupted. The contributions of the various authors on the subject of this issue are presented.

Keywords: Origin, trauma, parent good enough, analyst sufficiently good.
