The EU Court of Justice interprets articles 5 par. 1 l. c) and 7 of Regulation (EC) no. 261/2004 in the sense that it is always up to the operating air carrier to inform the passenger of the cancellation of the flight and to pay the relative financial compensation if this has not been notified at least two weeks before the scheduled departure date, even when the contract has been concluded for through an intermediary to whom such cancellation was promptly communicated.
