In this paper, following Jung’s dream theory, some countertransfer-ence dreams are described, which show the unconscious transmission of images between patient and therapist. Analysing these dreams can give access to a new interpretation of the therapeutic relationship. With the help of some short clinical vignettes, the Author shows that, by working on countertransference dreams, the therapist can contact her own inner parts in the first place, thus setting in motion an inner dia-logue that activates a new form of communication with the patient. This communication is made possible thanks to the changes produced by an integration process of unconscious aspects.
Keywords: Transference, countertransference, psychoanalytic field, dream, projective identification.
