This article aims to analyse the ethical consistency of some professional categories in their relationship with a special interlocutor, the mafia organizations, in order to identify their deontological distortions. Therefore, the main purpose of this research is to underline the crucial connection between the work ethic and the quali-ty of the social systems within the Italian context. Starting on the assumption that professionals are equipped with a special power of signature, the authors analyse seven emblematic case studies. From their analysis, they propose a typology based on six variables: historical phase, geographical area, beneficiary criminal organiza-tion, professional involved, nature of their misconduct behaviours and typology of their effects.
Keywords: Profession, ethic work, organized crime, power of signature
