Mediation and conflicts resolution is a wide field. Training has to fit and be specific in any domain, the transversal one included, as technicalities in conflicts management are a common field of work. Trainers are required to possess knowledge and skills in: training, in order to manage and conduct lectures, select contents and modalities of delivery that are appropriate to learners and to the kind of learning event; conflict management, communication and interaction’ techniques; methodologies for facilitation procedures as well as for negotiation and mediation award; national, European and international laws and judgements; any subject that training will need to cover. This paper intends to provide a general overview, although not exhaustive, of the professional role, position and function of the trainer in the field of mediation, conciliation and more generally conflicts management in various domains.
