The research deals with the matter of linguistic minorities and proceeds to explore the Italian constitutional framework and briefly others constitutional systems. Special atten-tion is paid to the different tools used to value the linguistic identity; to the collective dimension of the protection of linguistic rights; to the group rights as right held by an encompassing group rather than by its members severally.
