The recent political claims of migrants highlight episodes of citizenship from below, in which it is possible to observe the presence of social movements or networks of associations, such as Project20k e No Borders; this seems to underline an overlap between volunteering aspects and specifically political activism aspects, foreshadowing cases of mediated citizenship (Ambrosini, 2020a; Bartolotta, 2015). It is possible to study these cases through the model of prosocial activism, consisting in a network of several/different forms of collective action through which citizens aim at supporting vulnerable social categories (Moro, 2010). This work aims to analyse the above processes of collective action through case studies of some networks of activism in defence of migrants rights in Sicily, within which were conducted brief narrative interviews campaigns aimed at board members.
Keywords: citizenship, activism, volunteering, associations, movement, mobilization.
