In this article we will describe the possible use of the songs in different psychiatric settings and in training in cognitive psychotherapy, experiences gained within the Psicantria project. Clinical examples of the use of songs in mindful listening groups will be presented, in which the songs become facilitators for sharing inner experiences, also thanks to the use of a listening schedule. We will talk about the songwriting technique of parodies and the group composition of original songs, with particular reference to the area of eating disorders. Finally, we will reflect on the possible use of the same techniques in the context of training in cognitive psychotherapy.
