The High Court of Justice examines a case involving a claim for compensation for physical and psychological damage suffered by hotel guests attacked by a stranger who had broken in during the night. Having clarified the different approach of the model of the Anglo-Saxon legal systems on the subject of liability, after a brief examination of the hotel contract, simi-larities and differences on the liability of the hotelier between civil law and common law are explored, making specific reference to the "obligations of protection", with a projection of the possible outcome of the judgment in Italy.
