The late 19th and early 20th century were characterized by mixed migration flows where the American continent was the pole of attraction for millions of people. The goal of this paper is to highlight the importance of emigration from the Arab countries to Mexico. In The first part the writer presents the analysis and the interpretation of the primary sources needed to carry out a rigorous investigation, providing numerous data to support the study. The sources examined include: the Register of Foreigners, present in the General Archive of the Nation (AGN), the INEGI censuses and the Lebanese Directory of 1948. In the second part of the ar-ticle the author reconstructs the internal migration movements of the Mexican Re-public in the period ranging from 1895 to 1950. The paper introduces the reader to Arab emigration to Latin America, highlighting its social and cultural importance and encouraging interdisciplinary research on this subject.
Keywords: Arab migrations; Mexico; Lebanon; American continent; General Archive of the Nation; INEGI.
