The essay deals with an important family of the Florentine patriciate, extinct in the late nineteenth century, the Rinuccini. It reconstructs their economic activities in the Kingdom of Naples and the management of the small Apennine fief of Baselice, now in the province of Benevento, from the first half of the seventeenth century until the subversion of feudality and the disposal of the real estate by Pier Francesco Rinuccini. Through a first analysis of the rich documentation in the family fund, preserved in the Corsini archives, it is possible to reconstruct, in particular, the entrepreneurial activity of the marquis Alessandro Rinuccini, who animated for a long time an intellectual circle in which Bartolomeo Intieri, administrator of the estates of many Florentine families in the Kingdom of Naples in the first half of the eighteenth century, was the main protagonist. The contribution also dwells on the tensions that characterised the management of the fief throughout the 18th century.
