Relational setting and learning. We are living through a historic period, in which the education model and its organisation which inspired the birth of the nineteenth century school system, is now showing signs of reaching its limits. The school system appears to have stalled, to have fossilised and keeps repeating itself. However, this is not always the case. Based on evidence from some teachers’ work who have managed to successfully explore new teaching practices, we manage to catch a glimpse at some methods that could be used as best practice in fitting with the present. In particular, we can clearly see emerging a relationship between teacher and student, based on trust and responsibility that follows in line with the objective of teaching and learning efficiency. These conclusions are based on the unique dynamics which characterises today’s teenagers which has been supported by many scientific studies. Through applying this approach, adults are able to become an authority and point of reference for their students, accompanying them as they develop and grow towards adulthood.
