The article describes how the sublimation ability has been an expe-rience conquered by the patient through the therapeutic work. The backbone that supports this piece draws a relationship between subjec-tivation and integration aimed by the patient thanks to a reactivated li-bidinal investment, with a binding and revitalizing outcome; further-more, it shows the ability of the patient to represent and to symbolize the access to sublimation movements. Together with a libidinal investment reactivated through therapy and the sublimation abilities conquered, the patient went back to an em-powered artistic fulfillment. The signification process intrinsic to sub-limation will lead her to track down, from connection to connection, the meaning of her art. Photographs finally libidinally invested which have therefore acquired evocative force, becoming meaningful, lively and exciting. The article also tries to address the question of how the concept of sublimation in current pathologies can still be said to be contemporary and useful. The comparison is between the Kultur of Freud’s time, which recognized in the sublimation processes what allowed the indi-vidual to live in civilization, and today’s scenarios in which the ten-dency is to drive discharge, in which the impulse is neither repressed, neither transformed but rather aimed at enjoyment.
Keywords: sublimation, subjectivation, work of the Negative, creativity, symbolization, libidinal investment.
