The intent of this work is to dialogue through an imaginative and metaphorical language around the concept of sublimation and through some of its possible extensions: poetry, narration and literary creativity. Metaphor, imagination, poetry, language, dream. Connections between sublimators phenomena and writing experience. Art as a never completely realized curiosity, in which the connection between sublimation and symbolization finds profound expression in the poetics of Emily Dickinson and in the troubled existence of the character of Violette Toussaint in the novel "Changing the water to flowers". A feminine world that seeks in her desire and in her own affective lack, to oust that human and bitter disillusionment that life imposes. In this way writing, as a form of art, can represent creativity and allow the sublimation for what has been experienced as a trauma. In this contribution, some of the theoretical conceptualizations concerning the origin and destinies of sublimation are questioned, leaving unsaturated spaces, open and contiguous areas between desire, lack and creativity.
Keywords: metaphor, passion, writing, trauma, language, poetry.
