The discussion with Francesco Melis, nidil cgil Milan, official in charge of the Gig economy sector, aims to explore the possibility of the construction of a sphere of jurisprudential rights for riders, starting from the physicality and design of urban spaces. Being involved in the path of unionization of riders since 2017, Melis in this interview briefly traces the chronological and normative stages of the case. The second part of the dialogue interweaves reflections that relate the legal-labor perspective with the opportunity of the construction of a space of citizenship through the involvement of riders in the design of the city they live, outlining synergies, responsibilities and possible trajectories to find a shared governance of this phenomenon.
