Arendt criticizes the fable of interior freedom and denounces the deviations of an anthropology based on will. This paper describes the central role that inner life plays in Arendt’s last writings, in particular The Life of the Mind. In this work, she explores the mental possibilities overlooked by the modern moral philosophy (that is, Thinking and Jud¬ging), and focuses on moral conscience and its role in public sphere. In addition, she outli¬nes a new political anthropology which gives importance to individual uniqueness, plura¬lity, and differences as crucial elements of political life. This is a trait that Arendt has in common with other women philosophers, such as Murdoch, Weil, and Nussbaum.
