The essay reconstructs the history of the Fédération internationale de la jeu- nesse catholique (Fijc) and its female branch, the Fédération mondiale des jeunesses féminines catholique (Fmjfc), which were the expression of Catho- lic youth laity in the Fifties and Sixties, involving thousands of youths mostly from Europe, the United States and Latin America and becoming places of construction of a global thought. The purpose of this essay is to bring to light some elements of the complex path of transformation of the cultural paradig- ms of Catholic youth in search of new models of social action.
