Following the restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, several Italian universities have organized individual or group initiatives to reduce student suffering. Among the various methods used in these initiatives there is also the phenomenological-hermeneutic methodology. The aim of this contribution is to describe a group experience based on this approach, carried out in an Italian university in order to identify the critical issues linked to it. 12 students participated in the remote group, these students read and dis-cussed in each meeting some testimonies regarding the suffering of their peers during the first restrictions due to the onset of the pandemic. At the end of the 7 meetings, the par-ticipants were asked to draft a text reporting their experience. Subsequently, a content analysis of the narratives was carried out from which a series of phenomenological cate-gories emerged., which highlight how the online dimension has not prevented the group from experimenting with meaningful relationships capable of encouraging forms of re-elaboration of the discomfort experienced through the surfacing and sharing of emo-tions, thus contributing to a better management of the emotions themselves. The phe-nomenological approach thus appears to be a methodology applicable in remote group contexts.
