The author comments on the works of some hyperrealist artists ‒ presented in the exhibi-tion Seems Alive held in Rome at the Palazzo Bonaparte ‒ with reference to the “uncanny” sen-sation that can be felt when the perception of “inanimate” collides with that of “animate”, and vice versa. He also decries this condition with that of “intimacy”.
Keywords: animated, inanimate, intimacy, uncanny, antinomies.
