This study aims to examine the role and perspectives of the academic institution in facilitating the employment integration and autonomous professional development of people with disabilities. By means of an in-depth analysis, it will focus on the importance of a close connection between schools and the third sector, higher education and the world of work in order to promote a sense of confidence in one's own abilities and autonomy, fundamental pillars for guaranteeing an independent and satisfying life, exploring new educational and professional models capable of fostering inclusive human relations. Through an interdisciplinary and inclusive approach, in fact, strategies and practices will be outlined that educational and academic institutions can adopt to significantly contribute to the improvement of employment opportunities and professional well-being of people with disabilities, thus promoting the creation of a more equitable and inclusive society.
