Starting from the problems that arose in the last parliamentary election of Italian constitutional judges, the paper addresses the theoretical and dogmatic foundations of the recruitment of constitutional judges. The initial guarantee is a ‘mighty problem’: it involves aspects that are far more meaningful than mere organizational data and deeply affect pluralistic democracy.
