This paper examines the critique of war developed by Desiderius Erasmus, focusing on Dulce bellum inexpertis and related works. Erasmus denounces war as a radical negation of human nature, grounded in violence, irrationality, and ideological mystification. His thought combines Christian humanism, ethical universalism, and a protocritical analysis of propaganda and power. Emphasizing peace, friendship, and rational dialogue, Erasmus anticipates modern peace theory and nonviolent thought.
