The paper describes liberation’s psychology issues, consistent with the methodologies and purposes of critical and community psychology. Such process paves the way for a critique toward psychological models which focus their attention uniquely on the individual, neglecting social, political and cultural aspects intertwined to the latter. This critique gives birth to a new declination of well-being and happiness opening to the dialogue with the economic and relational sciences. It follows a construction of new social indicators of wellbeing bear on participation, and social justice. In particular it explores freedom and fairness in relation to happiness, underlying their reciprocal interactions.
Keywords: Liberation psychology, community critical psychology, social justice, wellbeing, freedom, happiness.
