Since the onset of the pandemic caused by Covid-19, there has been a dra- matic flow of concurrent stressful events specially for families with children. In particular, the lockdown forced parents and children to live together in the same context, sharing school, work, couple and family life. The authors carried out an investigation to assess the impact of the pandemic on coparental and family relationships. The dimensions of Family Integrity and Conflict were explored through the Coparenting Scale and those of Family Strength, Family Communication and Family Difficulties through the Score-15. 626 parents responded and the results indicated that in most cases the subjects had perceived the family as a resource, obtaining better scores than those of the normative samples. The study represents a stimulus to consider family relationships as a relevant focus both for research on the psychosocial effects of the pandemic caused by Covid-19 and for the design of preventive interventions in the context of emergency psychology.
Keywords: coparenting, quarantine, familiar functioning, family, Covid-19
