This paper investigates the relationship of Italian young adults and violence, focusing on the dichotomy between generational violence and violent generation. The results highlight the intergenerational nature of perceived and experienced violence, as opposed to the acted violence, taking shape especially on the Net. While rejecting the label of violent generation, young adults acknowledge the existence of generational violence, yet attribute roles and responsibilities to other peers, within the paradigm of referred violence.
Keywords: generation Z; violence; digital media; violent society; mixed methods; baby gang.
