La ricerca esamina le decisioni per la custodia dei figli nei casi di violenza intima di coppia (IPV) attraverso una revisione sistematica della letteratura sui contributi di natura psicologica. Le pubblicazioni selezionate hanno esaminato, nel sistema giudiziario internazionale: gli aspetti psicologici dei procedimenti di custodia di figli e figlie di donne vittime di violenza domestica; le valutazioni dei professionisti coinvolti; i fattori che influenzano le decisioni di custodia e di visita dei bambini; e infine, le posizioni dei professionisti circa la mediazione e il contatto padre-figlio/a nei casi di IPV. I risultati indicano la presenza di vittimizzazione secondaria per le madri richiedenti l’affido dei figli nei casi di violenza intima di coppia e violenza assistita.
