Couples most often come to us, therapists, bringing account books as if they should want to balance their exchanges according to the justice of trade. However no lasting relation relies upon a trading exchanges which by nature can break off at any moment, but upon the belief in a transcendental factor which we have called the "absolute" of the couple or the "founder tale" of the couple. In the relationship, this factor introduces the "gift cycle" which has no limits in time. You give because you think you have already received or are going to receive from your couple relationship. Through methods relying primarily upon analogical expression like the "couple therapy invariable protocol", it will be possible to help the couples to put down account books and calculators, to rediscover the "tale" upon which the couple is built and as such find ways to make it evolve.
