The aim of the authors is to present some research tracks characterizing the current urban ethnography view in France. The contributions bring out the fact that ethnography approach allows to "go beyond" the standard knowledge of urban phenomena. Authors suggest that through this approach "another city" can emerge but, in order to discover it, epistemology and method of the ethnography fieldwork are required.
