According to consolidated published results, patients affected by personality disorder and/or by psychotic disorder take advantage from interrupting their dysfunctional interpersonal cycles, from increasing their metacognitive abilities and socio-relational skills. Nineteen patients in a rehabilitation psychiatric residential center were proposed to attend ten sessions of psyco-tales and ten sessions of psychodramatic active techniques (Moreno’s approach). Goal of the activity was the development or improvement of their relational abilities. The techniques used are characterized by an informal ludic setting, outside the routinary community life and protected from any judgment. The atmosphere encourages patients to experience unusual interpersonal cycles with peers; metacognitive skill is stimulated; unconventional points of view are explored. Patients allowed themselves to loosen their usual rigid patterns, and testing new strategies. Authors observed increased metacognitive abilities and socio-relational skills in patients treated with techniques actively involving them in processes, allowing them to play roles (including co-therapeutical) alternative from their pathological condition and cure contest.
