Campi Bisenzio, Settimo Torinese, Calderara di Reno are all small Italians towns, located in different regions, but connected by a file rouge: they all have in common the strikes of Mondo Convenienza workers. The general aim of this contribution is to systematise the actors of participation in the events (institutions, trade unions, workers) and the places of participation (social networks, digital platform, warehouses where the workers have established the strikes). In the first case, the focus is on an investigation of regional orientations related to institutional interventions and trade union subculture. In the second case, however, the question is how new virtual spaces can represent an unusual input to the protests. The success of the mobilization, although manifesting itself with different outcomes, was determined thanks to a calibrated balance between margins of worker activation, impact of media propaganda, trade union planning and public-political commitment.
