The essay examines the lecture-courses on Hegel’s thought delivered by Dal Pra in the 1970s. In particular, it focuses on two courses devoted to the Science of Logic, and on two courses on «Analytic Epistemology and Hegelian Dialectic». Dal Pra took up and developed the interpretation proposed by J.N. Findlay in his book Hegel: a Re-examination. He read the text starting from two fundamental convictions: Hegel, even in the Science of Logic, is the philosopher who seeks to understand and give conceptual form to experience;; the logical concatenation of categories is far from strictly necessary, but this fact may suggest interesting and innovative conceptual paths. According to Dal Pra, on the one hand, the systematic and all-encompassing approach carried out by Hegel must be rejected;; on the other hand, it is possible to recover dialectic, with its instances and conceptualizations, understanding it, however, as a heuristic tool, to be put to the test in understanding experience.
