The aging of the immigrant population in Italy is a growing phenomenon, with many first-generation immigrants, who arrived in the 1980s and 1990s, reaching advanced age. Many of them have held physically demanding and often irregular jobs. Difficulties in accessing health and social services are compounded by language and cultural barriers, leading to greater social isolation and an increase in chronic illness and disability. The aging of immigrants requires increased attention from welfare policies to ensure that they age with dignity and inclusiveness.

Keywords: migrants; aging; demographic projections; disability.
