Florian Witold Znaniecki is generally knows to sociologists as the co-author, along with W.I.Thomas, of The Polish Peasant in Europe and America (1918-1920).
This book does not claim to be a systematic and exaustive introduction to the Polish sociologist; it is intended simply to call attention to the fact that Florian Znaniecki played a full part in the theoretical and methodological discussion which make up the history of sociology in the early decades of this century, offering some original contributions and perspectives which had solid foundations in the philosophical hinterland.
