The concept of boundaries has been widely debated by scholars for the meaning it assumes when associated to the issue of sport. The contribution approaches the concept of boundaries from different points of view. A first approach, points out the subjective value of limit; a second approach will underline the objective meaning, related for example to the impossibility of performing sport activities due to the lack of certain conditions. The concept of boundaries is then presented as an exploration of new areas, but also as a challenge for the individual sportsman, as a new concept of competition. A second step of the analysis has specific geographical features. The issue is the opportunity for disabled persons to practice sport in some French speaking regions. The analysis includes Italy, France and Switzerland and will provide a framework of sector regulations.
