This paper analyses the role of geographical mobility of inputs (in particular of labour) in the automatic adjustment mechanisms in Italy in respect to the other EU countries in 10 years across New Century. In particular the paper, by Theil Index, examines and measures the effectiveness of labour market policies carried out by the Italian Governments, in terms of reduction of the regional disparities in comparison with the whole European distribution of unemployment.
