"La tyrannie de la communication" (1999) by Ignacio Ramonet is a critical reading of the functioning of western societies. Ramonet’s take on mediatic communication problems points out the outstanding aspects of redundancy in the information and the commodification of contents. Such a perspective allows several considerations on the side of the social and cognitive psychologist. The new technologies involve deregulation of cognitive sequencies: understanding is reduced to vision. The author refers to the spectacularization through which the audience is directly put in contact with the event without any cultural mediation. Paolo.Calegari@unimib.it
