This study aimed to examine the relationship between argumentative text production and motivational components, particularly self-efficacy and interest in writing this type of text. To hundreds students from different school levels participated to the study: 55 fifth graders, 71 seventh graders, and 74 eleventh graders; among the participants, 93 were females, and 107 were males. Before producing the text, participants were asked to evaluate their interest in writing an argumenative text, and to evaluate their writing self-efficacy believes. The results revealed differences in textual structure in relation to age and gender, age and self-efficacy and gender and interest.
